The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships is committed to the success of our students by providing financial aid and advising services that support student recruitment, retention, and timely degree completion, and ensures that a world-class education remains within reach for all eligible students who need financial assistance to achieve their educational goals.

The Financial Aid Student Assistant’s main function is to perform basic clerical tasks including but not limited to: organize incoming documents, document imaging, data entry, filing, preparing student requests, operating basic office machines, assisting with financial aid campaigns, tabling, and workshops, and assisting with special projects as assigned.

Students applying for this position must be available to work during the summer.

The Financial Aid Student Assistant also helps and collaborates with the Marketing and Social Media Assistant as needed. These duties include but are not limited to:
• Designing flyers and graphics for: events and workshops, social media posts and campaigns, website
• Developing content for OFAS Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
• Creating Video Tutorials and announcements
• Photographing events and workshops

Students applying for this position must be available to work during the summer.

Qualifications:   • Must commit to working at least 10-15 hours per week for the entire 2020-2021 Academic Year; availability for Summer 2020 is preferred

• Must be a registered UC Merced Student who has a Federal Work Study award for the 2020-2021 Academic Year

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain strict confidentiality

• Pays close attention to detail when performing repetitive tasks

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer

• Be punctual and reliable

• Ability to work in harmony with others as well as independently

• A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision

• Strong time management and organizational skills
